This Czech map illustrates the Czech Republic and the main cities within the country. All main population centers are marked.
It also shows the borders with the four surronding countries of Germany, Poland, Austria, and Slovakia.
The map below shows how the Czech Republic is located at the heart of Europe and therefore is a great location to be based or to start any travel holidays around Europe.
Since 2000, the Czech Republic has been divided into thirteen regions, and the Capital City of Prague. Each region has its own elected Regional Assembly. In Prague, the powers are executed by the city council and the mayor of Prague.
The older seventy-six districts including three 'statutory cities' (without Prague, which had special status) were disbanded in 1999 in an administrative reform; they remain as territorial division and seats of various branches of state administration.
